Each choir is allowed to participate in a maximum of 2 categories.
Group A
a. Song selection and difficulty level must be age-appropriate.
b. Tolerance, 10% of the number of singers can be 1–2 years older/younger than the written age limit.
Group B
B1 - MUSICA SACRA
a. This category refers to sacred music (Church Music) from ancient times to the present.
b. Terms of the song
* One song from the Medieval period to the Romantic period (composer born before 1900)
* One song from after the Romantic period (composer born after 1900)
c. The song must be original from the composer and not adapted version (arrange) from another composer.
B2 - GOSPEL & SPIRITUAL (Music of Afro-American tradition)
a. The song program must be an Afro-American Spiritual tradition.
b. Modern gospel song and African folksongs cannot be performed in this category.
B3 - POP & JAZZ
a. Program songs of free choice with type of Pop & Jazz music.
b. In this category, participants can provide their own additional acoustic musical instruments (no amplification).
B4 - FOLKSONG
a. Program songs must be folk songs that have been adapted in choral performances.
b. It is highly recommended to perform folksong from the participant’s region.
c. Participants must submit the score of the song along with information regarding the origin and meaning of the song IN ENGLISH.
a. Two songs must have different characters.
b. The maximum singing duration is 10 minutes (pure performance time). Exceeding this time limit will result in a one-point deduction per minute.
c. Maximum of 3 non-pitch percussion instruments are allowed.
d. A Piano will be provided on stage.
e. Amplification and backing tracks are not permitted.
f. Choreography is allowed.
a. Schedule will be announced to all participating choirs at a later date.
b. The organizer reserves the right to modify or adjust the event based on the circumstances that arise in order to ensure everything proceeds smoothly and successfully.
The decision of the committee is final.
a. Musicality – Interpretation, expression, style
b. Technical competency – Intonation, rhythm, diction, dynamics, fidelity to score
c. Tone quality
d. Overall artistic impression
80 - 100 points – Gold Medal and Certificate
60 - 79.9 points – Silver Medal and Certificate
40 - 59.9 points – Bronze Medal and Certificate
Below 39.9 points – Certificate of participation
a. In each category, the choir that achieves the Gold Medal with the highest score will be the category winner. The Category Winner will receive a Category Winner Trophy and Certification of achievement, and qualify to participate in the Grand Prize Competition.
b. In any category where no choir achieves a gold medal, there will be no category winner.
a. All category winners will be invited to participate in the Grand Prize Competition.
b. The winner of the Grand Prize Competition will receive a Grand Prize Trophy and certificate of achievement.
c. The jury holds the right to invite other choirs that seem fit to sing in the Grand Prize Competition.
d. Each participating choir must perform 2 songs:
- One song from previous competition repertoire.
- One new song that has never been performed in this competition.
e. Duration of performance must not exceed 10 minutes (pure performance time).
All participants who take part in the 2nd Thailand International Choir Festival 2025 MUST pay the registration fee and Event Package.

The Event Package includes:
a. ID Card, granting access to performances at ThaiICF2
b. Program Book per person.
c. Accommodation for 5 days and 4 nights, including breakfast. Check-in after 2:00 PM, check-out by 11:00 AM.
d. Transportation:
* Airport service on arrival (during the event period).
* City transport, according to the ThaiICF2 schedule.
* Airport service on departure day.
Note:* Transportation services in Standard and Economy packages are limited to one-way trips, as per the official event schedule and specific needs of each choir.* Choirs opting for the Premium package will have exclusive private bus service.e. Liaison Officer: A liaison officer will be available from the time of your choir’s arrival until departure, as per the competition schedule.
